Thornton Partners’ team members have extensive experience with the provision of tax advice in the areas of GST, FBT, IT, CGT, PAYG, SGL. Indeed, if the Australian Taxation Office has an acronym – we probably know a fair bit about it.

Who Are Our Clients?

Our main area of practice is assisting business. Around 25% of our clients are country based with farm or farm related activities, with the balance operating in Perth and regional centres. Most of our clients own and operate their own business and employ 2-20 people. Typically these business operate through a partnership, company, or trust and have a superannuation fund.

How Much Tax Should You Pay?

We know what we are doing when it comes to the tax laws. We believe that you should pay not one cent more tax that the law compels you to pay. We can help you structure your affairs and run your business in the best way to allow you to achieve this.

Accounting Services

Thornton Partners can (and does) assist business owners with their accounting needs. We provide services ranging from drawing your creditors’ cheques to paying your staff and maintaining a detailed set of accounting records month by month, to preparing the minimum reports necessary for the completion of your tax returns at the end of the year.

Many of our clients use business software including MYOB, Agrimaster, Phoenix software. We support these and other client accounting packages.

Business Structures and Succession Planning

Family owned businesses have a number of challenges to ensure that the business continues on to the next generation. We conduct detailed reviews of our clients’ affairs to ensure that future succession issues are managed now (while they remain capable of being managed).

Company Secretarial Services

We have systems in place to ensure that our clients’ companies comply with their statutory requirements. Annual returns and reviews, changes of details, share allotments and transfers can all be executed with a minimum of fuss for our clients.
